Begin planning for the financial responsibilities of adulthood now. This is the best time to establish a lifelong relationship with your credit union. Start with as little as $5.00 to open a savings account, and then consider your first checking account too. If you’re under 18, you’ll need a parent or legal guardian’s consent, and we’ll ask them to be a joint owner.
Scholarships – Ripco participates in the scholarship programs at Rhinelander High School, Three Lakes High School, and Northland Pines High School. A total of four $1000 scholarships are awarded each year to deserving high school seniors who will be pursuing post-secondary education. Interested high school seniors should obtain an application form from their Guidance office.
In an effort to be even more inclusive and offer an opportunity to students who do not attend one of those three schools, in 2016 we added a brand new “Field-of-Membership” scholarship. This scholarship may be offered to a student living within our field of membership (the Wisconsin counties of Oneida, Vilas, Forest, Langlade, Lincoln, Price or Florence) and graduating from a high school (other than Rhinelander, Eagle River or Three Lakes) or from an alternative educational program that has prepared the student for acceptance into a two-or-four-year institution of higher learning.
For all of our scholarships, the awards are based on Ripco Credit Union membership (the applicant must be a primary Ripco member for at least 90 days prior to the date of application), academic achievement, career and educational goals, extra-curricular activities and community involvement, and a written essay.
Our “Field-of-Membership” scholarship application and additional information will be posted here in late 2016 for students who will be graduating from high school in 2017.
