Don't Fall Victim to Scammers

BE CAREFUL.  We’ve been seeing an influx of members being contacted by people posing as a reputable organization or person, promising them checks or money in exchange for their personal banking information.  We are cautioning you now because many members have recently fallen victim to these predators.

Victims of online fraud are often powerless when it comes to holding these people accountable, and are left to deal with the aftermath and financial hardships that frequently follow these sorts of scams.

Ripco Credit Union is doing everything we can to protect and educate our members about these types of con artists.  We are able to help most before the deception has already taken place, so we’re asking for your assistance.  Please think about family and friends who may be susceptible to this kind of fraud and strongly caution them about sharing any personal information over the telephone.

Most victims of this sort of trickery are not online, or tech savvy.  The more people that are made aware that this not only happens, but that it is happening to the people that we know and love, the more we can stop it through awareness.
